April 18 1-4pm Celebrate Earth Day at Earth Fare and support RiverLink with food, music and more! Down-home BBQ Pulled Pork Plates with Potato Salad and Carolina Cole Slaw will be available for $5.99 a plate with 20% of the proceeds going to RiverLink. Sherri Lynn and Mountain Friends will feature Bluegrass from their new music cd.
April 22 Get RiverLinked on Earth Day in partnership with Asheville Outdoor Center with rain barrel construction workshop 10am-noon $60/barrel all materials and tools supplied – RSVP to Palmyra Romeo Riverkeeper Assistant at [email protected] or 828-252-8474 ext. 119; river cleanup in canoes noon-4pm – both of these events require RSVP’s. 3:30-5:30pm FREE Outdoor Education Programs for the public featuring hands on, fun interactive environmental education activities at Carrier Park
April 25 River Cleanup and Concert to Benefit RiverLink – RiverLink and Duck Pond Pottery of Brevard, NC will host a stream cleanup of the French Broad River where it flows along Greenville Highway (Hwy 276) just a few miles outside of Brevard. We will leave from Hap Simpson Riverfront Park and go out in canoes to remove trash from the river. Following the cleanup, join us for a potluck and evening of local music and art through the fantastic Duck Pond at Dusk summer concert series. May 9 8am-2pm French Broad River Fins & Gills Classic to benefit RiverLink sponsored by Asheville Clear Chanell & Asheville Outdoor Center featuring fish tournament and fun activities for kids of all ages including fishing & casting classes, kayak and raft rides and more! Adults $10 and kids under 12 $5 to enter fishing tournament.
