The city practices "due dilligence". There were probably 10 meetings for Greenlife involving ‘Conditional Use’ zoning, permitting, variances, technical review, etc., all posted in the local papers and other legal qualifying notice givers. After this, they can legally tell Reid to go screw himself.

Staples went through the same process. There was little question about the way the building was going to look, ‘cept for that sign thing.

At a time like this in the city’s history it is vital that the citizens are well versed in project development. You will not be able to stop a project, but you can fairly easily add conditions to a project. The developers are usually so surprised that anyone shows up to their awkwardly scheduled hearings that they’ll agree to about anything. Then you have legal recourse for the Record.

Damn, I am glad that is not my street. This is madness, and I don’t know why the city does not give the man satisfaction.
