This group, calling themselves the “Raging Grannies,” practiced their rendition of “Yankee Doodle Bush” Sunday afternoon during the WNC Peace Coalition’s peace rally. The rally drew a few hundred people who listened to some bad poetry, sedate music and boring speakers. The rally marked the third anniversary of the war in Iraq, but there was no passion present. The speakers all found different ways to say, “I told you so.” People walked around with handwritten signs and American flags.

But aside from a few small pockets of people like the Raging Grannies, it was a dull affair.

Love the raging grannies. Hope I still have that level of passion when I’m a granny (of course I’ll be in my 80s before my kids have kids, probably). Unfortunately, it was a dull affair. They should have some more powerful speakers lined up or better music or SOMETHING!
