Be on the look-out folks. These folks could be headed to Asheville any day now:

From the Raleigh News & Observer:

North Carolinians will have more chances to attend big-time political rallies this week, starting with Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s appearance this afternoon in Elon.

Doors open at noon at Latham Park baseball stadium at Elon University for the event, and Palin is expected to appear a couple of hours later.

Country singer Hank Williams Jr. will join Palin and perform a song he wrote for the Republican ticket led by Sen. John McCain.

On Saturday, McCain will be in North Carolina for a rally at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center in Concord. It will be McCain’s second campaign event in the state since he won his party’s nomination.

Doors open at 8 a.m. Tickets are available at McCain campaign offices.

On Sunday, Sen. Barack Obama will hold rally in the Fayetteville area in his sixth visit to the state since the primary. The campaign has not yet announced details about the event.

Also on Sunday, singer James Taylor will begin a tour of the state for Obama, holding free concerts in Chapel Hill, Raleigh, Wilmington, Charlotte and Asheville.
