It was reported in an AVL-Shitizen's crime page report that there were shots fired during the Xmas holidays. Sketchy? Yes, I would say so.
It was also in the movie "Thunder Road". It was a grocery store then and when the car blew up people came out of it looking in shock.
I never thought of it as sketchy. Run down? Yes. Awful pool tables? Yes. Sketchy? No.
Also, to call it an arcade would have been quite a stretch. It was a pool hall that happened to have a couple video games (same for nearly every other pool hall).
