Here’s a quick look at the new Asheville City Centre in downtown Asheville. The project, at the corner of College and Charlotte streets, includes a 250-space parking deck, a Hilton Garden Inn hotel and office space, some of which has already been pre-leased. Those new tenants include: BB&T bank, for a an office and retail location; the Asheville law firm of Roberts & Stevens; and Clark Nexsen Architecture and Engineering.
The City Centre project by owners/developers Rusty Pulliam and John Spake is being constructed by Vannoy Construction.
How did you get these shots? Do you get to buzz around in helicopters often?
Perhaps you aren’t hip to a cool new technology called “Drones with cameras”…
I wonder what they have in mind for that little courtyard in the middle… at least, I hope that’s a courtyard and not just a place for cars to drive through into the parking deck.
I would have made the parking garage taller so it wouldn’t take up so much space. The parking deck in Green Square Raleigh is so much prettier and taller. The parking deck shouldn’t just be a concrete slab. Those extra designs and perhaps blue color/lights would really.
“The building manages to make its own statement too, with anodized aluminum fins that provide reflective light during day and night as cars move inside and out. ‘They allow you to see the building, to see by the building and to see through the building,’ he says. ‘They allow a lot of daylight to come in too – it’s much brighter during the daytime because we’re not blocking the light out.'”
now that would be really nice, make it taller and incorporate brick and maybe some artistic elements that are graffiti and vandal proof.
Nothing like Asheville residents to provide their personal recommendations to people willing to pony up millions to improve a derelict piece of property. I’m sure that they have no idea what they’re doing, and all.
Making it taller would ruin the views from the office building and hotel….
It would depend on the placement of the buildings and possibly the amount of green-space in between. A taller parking deck would give the parking deck a better view like the Green Square Parking Deck in Raleigh which is actually connected to government building/nature research facility which is itself connected to a skywalk/bridge. The views are tremendous from both the buildings and parking deck.
Not actually saying the one in Raleigh is perfect. I would definitely make some color/design improvements there too.
