‘Ooh La La’! Fine art nude and boudoir photo exhibit opens today

Hello,

I wanted to let you know about a unique exhibition and opening reception we are having!

Our newest exhibition opens this Friday, Feb 5– “Ooh La La” is an exhibition of fine art nude and boudoir photography by myself, Brie Castell, owner of Castell Photography in downtown Asheville. 

In celebration of the work, the opening reception will include performances by Bootstraps Burlesque, the launch of a new line of handmade lingerie by Elise Olson of On The Inside (presented as art pieces in frames, and on live mannequins), champagne cocktails, chocolates, and more. The photographs are mostly created by hand using sheet film and traditional darkroom methods. Some processes are 19th century antiquarian methods. Many works are one of a kind.

If you’re not familiar with who we are, Castell Photography is Asheville’s only strictly photo-based art gallery. We showcase photo-based art from artists from all over the world, and exhibit about 8-10 artists per year, as well as 3 juried exhibitions this year. Please check out our website for more info.
