Grand opening is on the 28th of Jan.
"cant break up the same ol same ol cookie cutter bars and Trinket shops downtown."
You and the other permasnipes will always have the retail paradise of Candler.
i’m working there, and they should be opening sometime in February. we go in on the 18th of this month to start setting things up inside.
"We could also use a few large chains on Lexington to clean it up a bit. Still looks like the hood near 240…"
We wouldn’t want it any other way…
I think that Trader Joe’s would be a great addition to this wonderful town as well. Take a moment to join my fan page to encourage Trader Joe’s to come here. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Bring-Trader-Joes-to-Asheville/207497958415?ref=nf
Whole Foods….this fall. South Asheville. Trust me. Finally Green Life and Earth Fare would be forced to lower their prices. Yeah yeah…Whole Paycheck…blah blah…but some fairly basic stuff at these two places is drastically cheaper at Whole Foods. Higher volume, lower prices. Competition is good for everyone. And Trader Joe’s may be good if you want some cheap wine, tasty snacks or frozen goods…but a entirely healthy lifestyle won’t be gained there. Have you seen their produce? gross.
":If Trader Joes comes in, it’ll go to South Asheville, probably to Biltmore McViliage"
Ceratainly hope so, cant break up the same ol same ol cookie cutter bars and Trinket shops downtown.
Looks like just another chain store anyplace in the US….there is nothing that unique or special about Urban Outfitters.
I always get a laugh at how folks here get so excited about retail chains like Whole Foods Market, Trader Joes, Hotel Indigo, Starbucks, etc.
Just more blandness….nothing to get all worked about.
We have Green Life and plenty of other options, we don’t need Whole Foods.
If Trader Joes comes in, it’ll go to South Asheville, probably to Biltmore McViliage.
Trader Joe’s would be a good fit for South Asheville and Whole Foods would be a good fit for Merrimon and or North Asheville.
looks so much better than the heap of windowless plaster that was there. anyone know when it’s going to open?
My only complaint about Urban Outfitters is that they whitewashed over several old signs that were painted on the side of the building. They weren’t in the best shape since they had been under stucco for so long, but it still made the building look old.
lots of folks say we need a Whole Foods, too…
Very nice and a great fit for downtown. All we need now is a Trader Joe’s in Asheville and we are set….. We could also use a few large chains on Lexington to clean it up a bit. Still looks like the hood near 240…
