dempol, thank you. Your $.02 makes alot of sense, and is shared by all the Obama supporters at my office. Volunteering politically is my heart but I think im burnt and need a break till the 2010 elections, which will be here before we know it.
What about people who WORK? They will be wasting their time knocking on my door.
I certainly appreciate the energy and spirit of the continued, grassroots effort by supporters of our new president and his proposed budget plan. But I question the judgment of organizers who have decided to knock on doors and make phone calls again, so soon after the presidential campaign. The voting public needs a break from political pushiness, no matter how legitimate the issue. Urging a call to local members of Congress is one thing – a good thing. But I think bothering campaign-weary constituents in their homes is another and could wind-up being detrimental to the cause. As always, just my $0.2.
