A quick look at the salaries of some of the executive directors of non-profits in Ashvegas. The numbers come from IRS filings the nonprofits are required to fill out and submit for public inspection. Not all of the non-profits have submitted recent 990 forms. For example, the latest on file for Mountain Housing Opportunities is dated 2004. So this information isn’t completely up to date, though it’s taken from paperwork the agencies are required to file in a timely fashion.Go here to look it up yourself.

I would say this is fairly low pay for organizational director positions. Of course, the orgs are non-profits, which means benefits, including vacation time, are typically more liberal than those offered by for-profit positions.

The non-profits I’ve worked for were mostly in big cities, such as Boston and Atlanta, though, so my pov may be skewed. Although that was a LONG time ago.

I was thinking of doing the same thing for WNC college coaches.
