This is awesome. Here’s the press release from Chad Nesbitt, who has always had a flair for getting attention:

Former Chairman of the Buncombe County Republican Party Chad Nesbitt will be competing in the Asheville Toughman Competition. If successful, Mr. Nesbitt will give all prize money to the Shriners Hospital For The Burned And Crippled Children.

Mike Cook, Potentate of the Oasis Shriners of Charlotte NC said, “We want to thank Mr. Nesbitt for what he is doing. He is exceeding the expectations of what Shriners do. He realizes that Shriners make a difference in the lives of burned and crippled children.”

A Shriner himself, Nesbitt has sponsored two children to the Shriners Crippled Hospital in Greenville SC and one to the Shriners Burned Unit in Cincinnati Ohio. He has also helped to raise thousands of dollars in the past as a volunteer in the organization.

“100 percent of the money Shriners raise go directly to the kids and their hospitals are the most technologically advanced in the world.” Nesbitt said, “Anything I can do to show how important these hospitals are, I will do it!”

The Toughman Contest has been a tradition at the Asheville Civic Center since the 1980’s. Fights consist of 3 one minute rounds with a 60 second break between rounds. Fighters that win Friday night advance to Saturday night fights which they will fight 3 to 4 times until the last man is standing.

A mixed martial artist, Nesbitt has fought in numerous kick boxing and Karate tournaments in his early 20‘s. Now at 41 years old, Chad Nesbitt could be the oldest person competing and will be fighting in the heavy weight division.

Nesbitt said (laughing), “I don’t have to worry about fighting any liberal Democrats this time around because they are to girly to step in the ring and take a punch to the face.” Chad Nesbitt said, “ But seriously, when you see these guys standing on the street corner wearing these funny looking hats, please give money to them because they are fighting for the burned and crippled child!”

It’s too bad Chad couldn’t just keep this about raising money for the Shriners. He had to make it political by conflating Democrats with sissies and other homophobic nonsense. I hope someone cleans this clown’s clock.
