Integrative Family Medicine is keeping its overheard low by not accepting health insurance and thus offering holistic health care at super-cheap prices. From the clinic’s newsletter:
The Integrative Life Program is our solution and we are confident that through exploring this model with patients and other health care practitioners we can further develop this solution together. By applying the principles of simplicity, sustainability, quality, and collaboration, we are able to provide the following services for less than what most people are paying for their phone or cable bills.

The office is located on Depot Street in the heart of Asheville’s River Arts District. I’m working on a story about the practice and its founders, so look for details coming soon.
Looks like a good idea, but with multiple sclerosis, I need to have a neurologist and physical therapy, neither of which I’d be able to cover out-of-pocket.
Excellent business plan, similar to my own plan, but primary care acupuncture for $50? As an acupuncturist who believes the medicine is most effective when received daily til resolution (as is the practice in Chinese hospitals) this fee is definitely less workable. Have you considered an initial intake charge with a certain number of follow-up tx included? I do $60 a week, with the option to come every day for a quick support tx. This means the pt can pay $60 for up to 5 tx, or if they choose to come one time it is a $60 fee for one tx. Also, if the primary doc is too busy, she does not need to do the follow-ups, meaning you have an opening for new docs to start building a practice.
Great for all of you!! I wish you the best in this wonderful idea. There will be lots of us watching you to see how it works, so feel free to contact me if there is anything I can do to help. Sometimes the eyes looking in from the outside can give a different perspective.
