Reader johnny t left a comment that we’ve been meaning to consider. His “what if” question went something like this: “Loebig (the WLOSer news director) is out. Ashvegas is in. Who gets moved around, shuffled in, out…”

That is darn good question. We’ll have to think about that, and we turn the question back on y’all. If you could be news director at WLOS, what would you do?

My first action as news director would be to hire a pit-bull style investigative reporter to work the many unreported issues affecting western NC. The current reporting lineup seems devoid of anyone who can ask hard questions and demand real answers.
