C_and_Co_2013Here’s the note from loyal reader, and store owner, Christi. The store is just a couple of doors up from Wasabi:

I opened a new shop in downtown Asheville this past Saturday at 15 A Broadway Street. We are having our grand opening event to benefit Brother Wolf this Friday, February 8th from 6-8 pm.

A little about our shop:

My company is C and Co. All Natural Body Goods, LLC. I have been in business for 2 years and have gotten to the point that the next step for the business was to open a retail location. The location is perfect and we are so excited that we are going to produce and sell our products in shop. Our current line on available on our site and we will be adding to it throughout the next month.

I stated the company because I have very sensitive skin and got really sick of spending so much money on all natural, organic products that didn’t work. We have put a lot of time and money into research and design ensuring that every C and Co. is safe and effective as well as affordable. As a company, we are so proud to follow the FDA voluntary standards of good manufacturing practices since the cosmetic industry is not regulated. In addition, our products have gone through multiple microbial tests to ensure that our products remain safe & effective.

Every C and Co. product is handcrafted from organic oils, butters & waxes within shop. We do not use any pre-made bases for any of our items. We do everything from scratch.
Thanks so much for your time.

As I am very sensitive to artificial fragrance I am hoping that these products truly are natural and organic. I have noticed that some local folks like to throw these words around a lot although there are loads of chemicals and synthetic smells that are harmful to our health in their soap and lotions. (FDA does not really mean much to me, its the phthalates and “fragrance” and Sodium Laurel Sulfate that the FDA has approved that irritate my skin, lungs, and brain)
    Read your ingredients!
Know what you are putting on and in your body!
Organic olive oil, sunflower oil and coconut oil make great skin moisturizers by the way!

I bought some lotion and underarm balm, and have previously tried the lip balm. These products are AWESOME!! I also bought a candle on Saturday, and it is one of the cleanest smelling candles I have ever burned. Can’t wait to try more products, and I am so excited to finally find natural skin care products that work!
