Here’s the note from loyal reader Leslie:

Hi Jason,

I hope you got the email I sent you thanking you for posting about plant on Ashvegas. We really appreciated the plug. Right now, we’re shooting for an  August opening.

Thought you might be interested in our contest. Check it out on our facebook page (post is below).

The building that houses plant was in the 1950s cult classic Thunder Road which was filmed mostly in Asheville. To commemorate our building’s brush with fame, we want to name an ice cream flavor Thunder Road and thought it would be fun to ask our facebook friends to suggest which flavor should be so honored. So, send your suggestions. If we choose your idea, we’ll reward you with a plant gift certificate! Good luck!

In the (very brief) scene, a car is blown up in front of the building (which at the time was a gas station). We think it’s pretty cool that our building was seen in the movie and thought we’d have some fun with it. Another funny coincidence – the guy who works on our water system at home said that the car that was blown up was owned by his father-in-law who sold it to the movie’s producer.

Thanks again for your support.

Best, Leslie
