Fresh off his appearance on TBS’ Conan, Comedian Mike Lawrence kicks-off a new monthly professional stand-up comedy series at Asheville Brewing Company’s The Mill Room in downtown Asheville on Friday, November 1st at 7:00 pm and 9:30 pm.

Funny Business and The Millroom are committed to establishing a new home in Asheville for regularly-scheduled, high-caliber, professional comedy shows. The Millroom offers full bar service, along with a selection of Asheville Brewing’s locally-made craft beers. The adjacent Asheville Brewing offers the best pizza and beer in WNC before and after the comedy shows.

Mike Lawrence is a New York City based comedian who has been featured as a stand-up on TBS’ Conan twice, and for Comedy Central appeared on “John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show” twice and had his own episode of the Half Hour. …

Special Guest is opening comedian Tanner Inman out of Atlanta, GA. Tanner Inman is a fearless and unique performer who will dominate any stage he may find. He is deliberately the artistic genius and village idiot all at once. An experimental comic’s comic who still possesses the ability to appeal to the rest of the world. Hosting the evening is local comedian Cary Goff.

Funny Business at the Millroom brings live, nationally-recognized comedians for 2 shows on a Friday night each month (mostly the 1st Fridays of each month). Generally there will be 2 shows, starting at 7:00 & 9:30pm and ticket prices of $15 in advance, $17 at the door. There will be 3 comedians each show: a local emcee, a feature act and a national headliner. Shows will run around 1 hour and 45 minutes. The headliners will generally all have Comedy Central or equivalent credits. Funny Business Agency (www.funny-business.com), one of the largest agencies in the country booking comedy clubs, is partnering with The Millroom (connected to Asheville Brewing) in downtown Asheville, NC at 66 Asheland Ave. Funny Business also booked The Funny Business Comedy Club at the S&W in Asheville several years ago. The first show is Friday, Nov 1, 2013 and the second show is Friday, Dec 6, 2013. January- April 2014 dates and lineups will be announced soon. Our shows are designed to provide a consistent home in Asheville for high-quality professional standup comedy.

Buying tickets in advanced is highly-recommended and can be done so by visiting here or by calling 800-838-3006.
