The inaugural Cradle to Grave 30K (that’s 18.6 miles) is coming to the Cradle of Forestry in Pisgah National Forest on Saturday, May 18.

This is not only the first 30K, but the first footrace ever at the Cradle of Forestry – aka, the place where forestry in American was born.

The Cradle to Grave 30K will start and finish at the Cradle of Forestry, located on U.S. 276 just south of the Blue Ridge Parkway near Sliding Rock. It was originally hoped that the race would go from the Cradle to Graveyard Fields on the parkway, said organizer Devin Gentry.

For a first-time event, they decided just to have the race take place completely within the Pisgah National Forest, and maybe sometime in the future to add the Graveyard Fields component.

Registration is limited and available starting Wednesday, Feb. 6, at www.cfaia.org.
