Press release here:

A woman from Arden, N.C., is the winner of the NAVITAT CANOPY ADVENTURES “Name Our Squirrel” contest.

Donna S. Cishek was among the 500 entrants who suggested names for the new NAVITAT mascot. She receives a canopy adventure for four for submitting the winning name, Chester A. Corn.

Cishek entered at the urging of her two young granddaughters after they saw a billboard promoting the contest.

“We’re so excited that our name won,” said Cishek, who plans to share her canopy adventure with her daughter, her sister and her niece. “I’ve bungee-jumped before, but never done zip-lining. It looks like so much fun. And we just love the outdoors.”

As Chester settles into his new digs – with the hope that others of his family will soon follow — NAVITAT is preparing for its grand opening day on May 15. The zip line-canopy tour is located just 20 minutes north of downtown Asheville, N.C.

“We’re looking forward to introducing our visitors to a spectacular and truly unique experience that showcases the natural beauty of the area,” said Ken Stamps, Managing Partner at NAVITAT.

Designed by Bonsai Design Inc., a leading canopy tour installer in the country, the NAVITAT course is comprised of artfully constructed platforms nestled in the trees and connected by a series of sky-bridges, zip lines and rappels.
