Here’s the update from the Pineapple Jack’s page on FB:

Thank you all who have expressed interest and concern over the transition of Pineapple Jack’s. Your voices are being heard and we feel encouraged to find a way to let Pineapple Jack’s live on. However, the 643 Haywood Rd. location will remain closed. Pineapple Maggie will be on an extended sabbatical and is working on a way to market PJ’s as a package to pass the torch along. Stay tuned for details on our upcoming farewell party. We love and appreciate you all. THANK YOU for 7 years of friendship and patronage.

About a week ago, the Mountain Xpress had the story on the West Asheville restaurant closing, which seems to have happened in mid-July.

Pineapple Jack’s is closed and in a state of “transition,” according to this note that’s posted on the the West Asheville cafe and smoothie/juice bar’s front door. The business, located at 643 Haywood Road, won second place in last year’s “Best of WNC” Xpress readers poll for its delicious fresh fruit smoothies.

The cafe served wraps, sandwiches, smoothies, juices, soups and desserts. We’ll keep you posted as  to what’s going on.
