Here you go:

-Groundbreaking for Public Safety Training Center: There will be a groundbreaking at 11 a.m. on Oct. 12 for Buncombe County’s new Public Safety Training Facility. It’s built on the old county landfill site on Riverside Drive.

The facility will include a defensive diving course, an indoor firing range, fire training tower, burn buildings, rescue evolutions, and educational classroom space. Administered by Asheville-Buncombe Technical College, this Public Safety Training Facility will provide training for EMS, Law Enforcement and Fire and Rescue personnel from Buncombe County and the western region.

-Orange Peel love: Bob Crawford of the Avett Brothers loves the Orange Peel

-Devo is coming: Just a reminder that Devo is coming to Asheville on Halloween weekend for Moogfest 2010. Here’s the rest of Devo’s fall tour.

-Buncombe County flu clinics: Yup, it’s that time of year again.

-Band of Horses and their Asheville connection: Here’s how they got together.

-Smoky Mountain News news: Quintin Ellison, a former Asheville Citizen-Times reporter and editor, has joined the Smoky Mountain News. Her mother and father, nature writer/artists, have been long-time contributors to the Waynesville weekly.
