Awesome. From loyal reader Magan:

Hello,

I’m a local Asheville resident (and everyday reader of your blog!) and also had a great time at Moogfest this year.  One notable aspect of Moogfest, aside from the killer music, is the great art that accompanied the festival.  Have you seen the new, huge, mural on the side of the Moog building that faces Lexington?  They added it over the weekend, just in time for Moogfest, and I’m sure people are wondering where the art came from.
The mural art on the Moog building was all done by local artist Philip Bell.  He’s from Asheville and just moved back to town at the beginning of the summer.  He’s a freelance graphic designer and artist and has been doing different work for Moog over the past couple of months (he did many of the Moog Ts they were selling over the weekend as well as some design work for their Aha-AVL series).  I think he’s a great artist and an exciting addition to the Asheville art scene; I’m so glad the city gets to see his work on the side of the Moog building now!  I think that the Philip Bell’s Moog mural is an amazing addition to their new space; the piece makes their whole building come alive and emanates the energy of Moog.  His website isn’t updated with his work for Moog yet but you can check out some of his other work at his website, http://philipbell.org/.
I attached a few pics of Philip Bell’s mural on the side of the Moog building that I snapped this weekend during the festival.  Enjoy!

I was out of town for MoogFest but when I came back this was here to surprise me!!! I really hope it stays up for a while. It kicks up the downtown AVL experience even more!

    Thanks Moog!

Mr. Bell's mural is a wonderful work of art. It is imaginative, fun and fresh. It evokes a happy good feel to it, similar to Keith Haring. Moog should be very proud they have created a bright and innovative depiction of their company which contributes to the soul of their brand and provides a big boost to Asheville's growing cultural Mecca.

I hope it stays up for awhile. It's great seeing when I go to work at TV Eye.

The Moog mural by Philip Bell is now on my "cool things to see in Asheville" tour for all of my out of town guests. It really captures the creativity that IS Asheville. This is an amazing addition to the Asheville vibe and I can't wait to see what this artist does next. Thanks for providing his website!
