Here are a few:

-The A-B Tech Presidential Search Committee will meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday in room 105 of the Magnolia Building on the Asheville campus to discuss the search process. (How long will it take them to pick a new prez? I’m guessing six months.)

-The Buncombe County Board of Health will meet on Thursday, May 14, 2009, at 6:00 p.m., in the Boardroom of the Health Center. (Wonder if they’ll talk about swine flu.)

-There will be a special meeting of the Housing and Community Development Committee on Wednesday, May 13th  at 3:30 p.m. in the Planning Department’s large conference room.

-A special meeting of the Asheville Downtown Commission is scheduled for Friday, May 15, 2009, at the Office of Economic Development, 29 Haywood Street. This will be the Downtown Commission’s Annual Retreat.  The hours are 8:30-3:30, and the public is welcome. For more information on the Asheville Downtown Commission, email Stephanie Monson at [email protected] or call Ms. Monson at 828-232-4502.
