To All My Former WLOS-TV News 13 Viewers In WNC:
Thanks so much for the cards and letters of concern.. about 40 so far.
I had an unfortunate accident last Wednesday at my station.. CBS 5 WTVH. I somehow lost my balance and injured my head by striking it on a carpet-covered,concrete floor. I was rushed to a Syracuse hospital by paramedics and underwent successful, emergency surgery to correct some internal injuries.
I’ve spent the past week on the campus of SUNY Upstate Medical University..joined by my wife.. Asheville Artist Barbara Fisher.. my mother.. Helen Kracher from Chicago.. along with my younger sister Jeanne Kracher, also of the Windy City. My daughter Melissa’s taking a little break from her Hugo-Boss internship in Manhattan this weekend to come over to The `Cuse for a visit.
The continued support of so many Asheville-area friends also makes a huge difference and reminds me how important you all are to my recovery and professional growth.
I hope to make a trip back to the "Land Of Sky" later this Summer.
Thanks again for caring so much about an old friend! I truly appreciate that!!!
Frank
Christ almighty! How did he fall? What was he doing? What are the injuries? Where’s the follow-up? It is incredibly frustrating living in a city with such a third-rate news organization.
