Ken Salyer, the general manager of Clear Channel Asheville and a well-known business leader, has been ousted, according to word on the street. Clear Channel operates some of the biggest radio stations in the Asheville market.

I don’t have details. Here’s what’s posted at allaccess.com:

CLEAR CHANNEL/ASHEVILLE, NC VP/Market Manager KEN SALYER has left the proverbial building. 

Assuming his duties in the interim is BILL MCMARTIN.

Clear Channel/Asheville, NC, VP/Market Manager Ken Salyer exits after overseeing the six-station cluster since August, 2003. Bill McMartin is named to handle MM duties on an interim basis. Previously, Salyer served as General Sales Manager for the local group. He joined CC from Citadel’s stations in Charlotte where he was GSM and General Manager for Country WRNS-FM in Greenville-New Bern. (05-20-11)
