Since this week’s Grey’s Anatomy is all anybody is talking about, let Ashvegas weigh in. Meredith is not going to die, people. And Izzie is a beeyatch, but we like her. We like her like we like Colonel Tigh, the one-eyed asshole on Battlestar Galactica. They’re not afraid to show their true colors.

Here is Izzie’s speech from Thursday’s episode of Grey’s, the speech that has everyone so up in arms over Izzie. As you all know, Izzie and the interns and McDreamy and McSteamy are gathered outside the OR as Burke and the Chief work on dying Meredith:

“She will come through this. She will come through this.

“I know people die,” Izzie says to George, who is breaking down.”People die in front of us every day. But I believe Meredith will survive this.

I believe in the good.

I believe that it’s been a helluva year, and I believe that in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, we will all be OK. I believe a lot of things.

I believe that… I believe that Denny is always with me. And I believe that if I eat a tub of butter and nobody sees me, the calories don’t count.

And I believe that surgeons who prefer staples over stitches are just lazy.

(to George) And I believe that you are a man who made a terrible mistake marrying Callie. And I believe that because I’m your best friend, I can tell you this and we can be OK. I believe that even though you made this mistake, you will be OK. I believe we survive, George.

I believe that believing we survive is what makes us survive.”
