Canadian mood-rockers Arcade Fire are no strangers to music fans, but if you haven’t been paying attention to your spring calendar, you might have missed the fact that the bad, with a new album out, will be playing Thomas Wolfe Auditorium in May.

The album, Neon Bible, is already getting props as one to be included in the best albums of 2007, and it’s only March. The band’s 2004 debut, Funeral, received similar accolades.

If you want to hear a band that sounds, as Newsweek describes it, as “grand, Springsteenian rock about the collision of faith and culture,” snatch up a ticket now (if you can find one) for Arcade Fire.

Local rock scenester, Josh Carpenter, got an advance copy and reviewed Neon Bible on SoundsPretty (http://www.soundspretty.com/?p=49).
