I had a blast harvesting my first few handfuls of berries in the garden Saturday morning before the rains moved in.

I’ve got raspberries and blackberries and they’re just now turning. I had to cover them up during that late cold spell we had earlier in the year and the plants have been just fine. It looks like I’ll have more raspberries than blackberries this year – they’re plumping up just fine.

Speaking of berries, I’m sure Walter and company are extra busy over at Imladris Farm. You should check them out sometime. Walter and his wife are young Fairview farmers living off the land like the old times.

You can often find Walter or a helper selling the jam they make from their berries at the stands outside the Grove Arcade. Em was helping pimp the berries at the Farmers Market herb festival earlier in the year.

Support your local growers.
