Screenwriting, playwriting and teleplay instructor Maryedith Burrell will guide you through four hours of writing fundamentals combined with improv games designed to give the actor a foundation for creating classic character monologue and sketch material.
Maryedith Burrell is an award-winning writer, producer, actress and director.
A Hollywood professional for over 30 years, Ms. Burrell made a name for herself as a writer/performer on the ABC late-night comedy series FRIDAYS with Larry David and Michael Richards. She went on to star in the series THROB, Ron Howard’s PARENTHOOD, and THE JACKIE THOMAS SHOW and enjoyed recurring roles on HOME IMPROVEMENT and SEINFELD as well as countless guest-star turns. With over fifteen films to her credit, her eclectic career also features tours with THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW and musicians like THE CARS, MICHELLE SHOCKED and THE TUBES, stints with THE ROYAL SHAKESPEARE COMPANY and voices for the popular animated series DUCKMAN. Her radio work includes XM, KPFK, KGO and KBOO. Known for her comedy skills, Ms. Burrell’s improvisational pedigree boasts SECOND CITY, THE GROUNDLINGS, THE WAR BABIES and FIRESIGN THEATRE. …
