Here’s the note from Hilary:

Hilary Hawke & the Flipsides are swingin’ & Slingin’ through Asheville!

Monday, January 10, 2011 @ the Town Pump Tavern, 8 pm

Thursday, January 13, 2011 @ Lexington Avenue Brewery, 10 pm

Bluegrassy country swing band, Hilary Hawke & the Flipsides are on tour from Brooklyn in support for their newest CD, Crow’s Heart.

Filled with 4 members of NYC’s thriving bluegrass and country scene (in case you didn’t know, there is a thriving bluegrass and country scene in nyc!) the band plays original songs as well as tried and true bluegrass and country covers.

Excited about passing through Asheville for their second time, the band will be playing at the Town Pump Tavern on Jan 10th in nearby Black Mountain and also at the Lexington Avenue Brewery on Thursday, Jan 13th 10pm.

Led by banjo babe and songwriter Hilary Hawke from upstate New York, all members of the band contribute their talents to songwriting, and singing harmonies reminiscient of 20’s style jazz tunes and early country/bluegrass tunes. But be reminded the shows are no history lesson and this group of 4 young, talented musicians will get you dancing, stomping, and having a great time with friends and family!
