The annual herb fest at the WNC Farmer’s Market in west Ashvegas was a total mob scene Saturday. Good thing we got there early.
We bought some SC strawberries for $8 a gallon and spent I don’t know how much on everything from scented geraniums to a black raspberry cane. It was great fun, beautiful weather.
I’m always amazed at the vast variety of mother nature (I saw some incredible hostas I’d never seen before.) And more than a little disturbed sometimes by how man has warped nature (thornless berry bushes – c’mon people).
One day I want a yard filled with elderberry and cherry and mulberry and every other kind of berry bush and tree in the book.
