U.S. Rep. Heath Shuler, D-Waynesville, filed for re-election to Western North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District on Thursday. Click here to see the full N.C. Board of Elections list of who has filed for re-election in North Carolina.

Former Asheville City Councilman and Shuler challenger Carl Mumpower tried to stir something up by stating earlier this week that he would consider running for congress if rumors were true that Shuler wouldn’t seek re-election. Well, as I said yesterday, it was highly unlikely that Shuler would not seek re-election. Now we know he’s in.

So will he be honest with the voters and run as a Republican or will he still be posing as a Democrat? Just asking……
