ASHEVILLE – On Saturday, 06-16-12, at approx. 3:30 pm, Officers with the APD responded to 46 Haywood St. in reference to multiple break ins that had occurred in the separate suite areas throughout the building.  All told, there were 9 x separate businesses broken into accounting for approx. $5,000.00+ dollars worth of damage.  Total monetary value of stolen items was approx. $15.00 dollars in spare change.

After a review of the surveillance video, detectives were able to quickly determine that the suspect in this matter is 35 year old downtown resident, William Clifton Lamm.  Mr. Lamm had recently been charged in a similar break in at the Flat Iron Building in Downtown Asheville, wherein he stole cash and credit cards from women’s purses.

Mr. Lamm currently has 9 x open warrants for Felony Breaking and Entering, and 2 x open warrants for Larceny after Breaking and Entering.  He is described as 5’11”, 150 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.  He also has a tattoo on his left shoulder with the word “Billy”.  He is also known to frequent the downtown area.
