Here’s the nice note, from KC Conner herself:

howdy hi –

i am doing an art show at Harvest this September …. the opening is Friday, Sept 3, 7-10ish  – The boys at Harvest suggested I give you a shout about it, and maybe you can mention it on the fabulous Ashvegas blog! There will be about 16 paintings, free beer and wine & many sexy people. You should definitely come. I am attaching some pics, my website, the flyer and a blurb about what my stuff is like … Please email or call me with any questions or concerns.

Thanks so much!

More on Conner’s work:

KC CONNER’s art is a conglomerate of ephemera and found objects that she has collected throughout her lifetime. Braille bible pages, antique player piano rolls, 1920’s hand-written Italian choral symphony pages, Spanish naval maps, 50’s book covers, European and Russian match box covers, 40’s Japanese text book pages and turn of the century game pieces – are some examples of the original stuff (never any photo copies) to be featured in this most recent collection of paintings. Each piece begins with a unique foundation of antique paper, over which layers of modeling paste are applied, sanded, scraped and stained. The end product resembles an aged fresco or a worn plaster wall after layers of paint and wall paper have been removed. In most pieces a central composition is designed and affixed. Subject always takes back seat to color and layout, yet often leads to interesting combinations that were not consciously intended; like the early 40’s Japanese text book combined with WWII ration stamps.
