The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa is proud to announce that Denny Trantham has been named Executive Chef for the Resort.  He was formerly Blue Ridge Dining Room Chef de Cuisine. Trantham grew up in Haywood County, North Carolina where he was exposed to the Southern Appalachian culture and the rich traditions of the South. These skills are reflected in the innovative and diverse Southern cuisine that is offered at The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa. Trantham works closely with local farmers to provide the freshest ingredients, while also supporting the local economy.

Chef Trantham attended Johnson and Wales University where he earned his Associate Degree in Applied Science of Culinary Arts and was also awarded the coveted Cordon Bleu award. Chef Trantham completed his apprenticeship at the National Press Club in Washington D.C., before graduating Cum Laude from Montreat College with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration.

Chef Trantham continues to actively participate in lecture and cooking demonstrations for local schools, news channels, and for guests attending special events at The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa. He is a member of The 2009 Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa Culture Council, and enjoys hunting, fishing and hiking. Chef Trantham lives in Canton with his wife Shannon, daughter Natalie and son Seth.

Dear Chef: Just wanted to say how much we loved our food while at Grove Park. Some one told us that if we wrote and requested a recipe some one might send it. Sir I am hungering for some of the cookies which I purchased at a little shop in the hotel and also the tomato dish with the cous cous. My husband almost licked the plate Sincerely Barb
