As the story unfolds about the Democrats kicked out of the Waynesville church, it’s interesting to just tap into the venom unleashed from both sides.
First, here’s the latest story.
Now, check out some of these comments on a Waynesville message board. For more, go to the board.
This is typical of firebrands blasting Waynesville (they always sound so self-righteous):
Golly – what a hateful little cesspool of fear and Satanism that community must be. “Christian” indeed. “Judge not that ye be not judged.” “Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.” “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” “Love thine enemies.” “Turn the other cheek.” “Lift up thy sword!” Well, you’re the laughing-stock of the nation. For shame.
Then, the backlash:
I love seeing all these southern sterotypes and hatred spewed by democrats in theese threads, becuase that would make you predjudice/racist. The very thing you accuse republicans and southers of is the same thing that you do.
This one made me laugh out loud – it was signed, “Pansy”:
Several hundred gays and lesbians in my area are interested in moving to East Waynesville. We think it’s a beautiful area, full of Christian charity and love. We can’t wait to join in the fun….
Then, this one for a kicker:
Should a pastor be your moral judge?
John 8:7 – And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.”
Should sinners be expunged from the church? If so, who would be left?
Matthew 9:13 – Go and learn what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.”
This was just a funny picture I found.
