The responses are pouring in from Ashvegas readers after my call for C.A.R.P.ing. Here’s Ashley from The Hop Ice Cream Cafe, where they’re all about delicious homemade ice cream. As y’all know, The Hop, no too long ago, moved further north along Merrimon Avenue.
Our biggest special right now is our Yule Logs that we make every December. Despite the name evoking memories of Grandma’s dried out Christmas cake, they’re really good. We get locally made cake from The Bake Shoppe and roll it with Peppermint Stick, Butter Pecan, or Vanilla Bean ice cream, then cover it with our Dark Chocolate ice cream. We can decorate them any way they want, typically with poinsettias or a Happy Holidays message. They go for $21.95 and yield about 12 servings (more or less depending on slice size).
For coffee lovers: every Wednesday is 99¢ latte day- all of our coffee/espresso is organic fair trade and locally roasted by Asheville Coffee Roasters.
All of our ice cream is made in the store with natural ingredients whenever possible. -AND- I also make our own Organic-Vegan-Soy-Gluten free ice cream from scratch.
Please mention that we’d love to support other local businesses if they want to drop by literature, or cards to our store (640 Merrimon Ave. Ste. 103- under Urban Burrito. 254-2224).
Networking through other Asheville local business owners has been amazing for us and we do our best to return the favor by hosting a local business information corner in our store. We allow anyone to post up business cards, brochures, posters, ect. to help get the word out. People can spend thousands of dollars on print advertising, but the impact of word of mouth advertising can be priceless for a small business.
