   Was recorded by Jules and made popular on Donnie Darko soundtrack 2001. Neither here nor there, cause it is an amazing version.

   Still doesnt dismiss the fact he covered a song that had been covered before he covered it. And it was covered in 1999-2001, so still today AI or not this version is not as trendy as it seems.

   AshevilleDweller, the album on which Jules’ cover appears was released (I think) in 2004 or 2005, so I think he at least got in before the American Idol contestant.

   Tears for fears did it quite awhile back and another group covered it in the same key before this guy.

   He is a little late to cover a song that has been recently covered.an american Idol contestant.

   It’s actually a Tears For Fears cover, and Gary Jules was born in Fresno, Calif. Still, it’s a nice treatment of a nice song.
