The best damn show on television is coming to an end.

My beloved Battlestar Galactica is ending its run with this upcoming season, its fourth.

Here’s what Yahoo is reporting:

Ending “Battlestar” with the upcoming 22-episode fourth season was a creative decision made by the hit show’s executive producers Ronald Moore and David Eick.
“This show was always meant to have a beginning, a middle and, finally, an end,” Eick and Moore said in a statement Thursday. “Over the course of the last year, the story and the characters have been moving strongly toward that end, and we’ve decided to listen to those internal voices and conclude the show on our own terms. And while we know our fans will be saddened to know the end is coming, they should brace themselves for a wild ride getting there — we’re going out with a bang.”

We have no doubt that the producers will give us our money’s worth in the homestretch, but damn. Damn. DAMN! What are we supposed to do without demanding Adama and the crazy Colonel and sassy Starbuck and stupid Apollo and sexy Six and traitor Baltar all the rest? There’s no other show that can carry off “frack” like these frackers. Frack!

Here’s the bone they’re throwing us, their loyal fans, before they throw us under the bus:

The fourth and final season of “Galactica” will kick off in November with “Razor,” an extended two-hour episode, with the rest of the season slated to run beginning in early 2008.

FRACK!

Love Battlestar, but I am kind of glad it’s ending. It seemed like there was only about a season left of story anyway before things started to get too ridiculous.

But Apollo is the man! He’s the most tortured guy on the show, behind only Baltar.

So I guess Baltar is the man, and Apollo is the vice-man.

Either way they are both awesome.
