Here’s the press release from the Buncombe County Republican Party, via Mountain Xpress Blogwire:

Dick Armey, Chairman of FreedomWorks and Matt Kibbe, President of FreedomWorks, will be in Asheville for the townhall meeting on August 26th, 5-7pm.

The meeting will take place at the Humanities Center at UNCA. For more information about FreedomWorks, check out http://www.freedomworks.org or call Bill Lack at (828) 253-5709. Book signings are planned for both men after the meeting.

Please share this information with your friends. UNCA is not known to be friendly to conservative principles so please come out to be supportive and to ask thought-provoking questions! This is not a political event

Armey is the author of a new book, Give Us Liberty, described as a Tea Party manifesto. Armey is chairman of FreedomWorks, a Tea Party organizing group. This is the first I’ve heard of any town hall-style meetings the group is holding. But Armey is talking a lot about the power of the Tea Party movement, what it means in the context of the greater Republican Party, and what impact it will have on policy, as well as this year’s midterm elections. Here’s Armey’s recent appearance on Meet the Press.
