These flowers populate the yard along Biltmore Avenue in front of the St. Joseph’s campus of Mission Hospitals. The installation is meant as an homage to Vincent Van Gogh’s famous painting, Irises.

The polyester fabric flowers, some 45 inches tall and 14 inches wide and affixed to metal stakes, sell for $20. You can take the flower, or just make a donation. The money goes to the Western North Carolina chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

The installation will remain in Ashvegas until Saturday. Then it will move to Hendersonville.
