Dan Ariely, who will speak at UNC Asheville on November 12, is now in the national spotlight. USA Today, Salon, Atlantic Monthly, MSNBC, and Wired are just a few of the media outlets that have featured Ariely and his new book, The Upside of Irrationality, just in the past two weeks.  Ariely’s work was cited by Robert Reich and in election coverage last week.

Ariely has long been a national figure in behavioral psychology and economics through his books, research, teaching and contributions to “All Things Considered,” and “Marketplace,” heard on many public radio stations.  He is the rare academic whose work gives meaningful insight into everyday behavior in an easily comprehensible and often humorous way.
