Nantahala Brewing, the popular Bryson City-based craft brewer, has announced that it plans to open an Asheville outpost. Word on the street is that Nantahala Brewing will take the former Anchor Bar and Kitchen location at 747 Haywood Road in West Asheville.

Nantahala Brewing opened in 2010 and has built a loyal following since by making quality beer and creating that builds off its connection to the great outdoors and the nearby Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The craft brewery opened a Bryson City restaurant a couple of years ago, and earlier this year received approval to open a Sylva taproom, the Smoky Mountain News reported.

Here’s today’s Facebook announcement from Nantahala about its Asheville outpost:

A long time coming… Today, we are excited to announce that we will finally put down roots in Asheville along side all of the brewers who welcomed us as friends and family over the last nine years. We are thankful to everyone who helped make this dream a reality. Our little production brewery owes it’s success to the many relationships we’ve forged through our involvement in the Asheville Brewers Alliance and without the support of that organization and it’s members, this day may have never come.

Our Asheville home will feature a rotating selection of over 20 of our beers on tap (on day one) including our most popular flagships, a music venue and a full kitchen featuring many of the popular dishes we offer at our Brewpub in Bryson City. To top it off, the Nantahala Brewing – Asheville, NC Outpost will start pouring our brews before the end of this month (August 2018).

Our close friend, Garret K. Woodward, will release a full interview with all the exclusive details next week in the Smoky Mountain News. At that time, we will provide a full press release with the all the details as well. Until then all inquiries can be directed to our Marketing Maven, Kate Dickey, at [email protected].
