Here’s my latest project, now complete – a collapsible compost bin. This is what the 3×3 foot square frame looks like when its all folded up.

And here’s what it looks like once you start putting it together. The two pairs of frames are hinged, with a little hook-and-eye on each side to connect the whole thing together. It’s quite sturdy and large.

It looks like it can hold quite a pile of leaves or grass clippings or vegetable peelings or whatever. I love the magic of compost. Start with garbage. Wait awhile. Come back to pick up something more useful.

Notice the fine craftmanship. The delicately wrought lap joints. The carefully stapled mesh. Those shiny, well hung hinges. We’re quite the carpenter (not).
