Chameleon Soul Food was a great place to eat, sans the over-priced menu. I do know, for a fact, that they had issues with hiring and immediately firing of numerous employees. Knowing a couple of friend, who having worked there, believed the restaurant sink….and sink fast. I hope that have an attitude change, and are friendlier in their new location…good luck & lower your prices.
Thanks to Nate for insight. Maybe the chef/owner will take heed.
According to discussion threads on Yelp and elsewhere, it had major issues with consistency, and it was also described as not being a particularly good value. With no atmosphere, and a location in a no-foot-traffic neighborhood, you had better have really good food or really great prices and from what I've read Chameleon offered neither.
Any insights as to why this restaurant did not succeed in its Merrimon location? Homegrown, Louella's, and Noy's Kitchen, all nearby, seem to be thriving?
