Carl Mumpower, at center, the Asheville City Council member and congressional candidate, fired his son, at right, from his campaign Friday after 24-year-old John Matthew Mumpower was arrested and charged with slugging another man at Wild Wing Cafe.

This photo was from Carl Mumpower’s victory celebration on primary night back in the spring.
