–Congratulations to the Blue Ridge Roller Girls! The Asheville-based flat track roller derby team won the gold medal in Division 2 of the WFTDA this past weekend in Portland. Here’s a great recap of the game. What a great season for the Blue Ridge Roller Girls!
–Reminder: The Taste of Asheville is coming up on Nov. 17.
–Smiling Hara tempeh and hempeh is now being sold in more than 20 Ingles locations.
–A member of the Russian feminist punk rock protest group Pussy Riot will speak in Asheville as part of a Nov. 16 panel discussion at UNC Asheville.
–Don’t look for a white Christmas in Western North Carolina this year. It’s going to be warmer than normal, and drier than normal, this winter, according to this projection from NOAA.
–Catawba Brewing is opening a Charlotte location.
-The city of Asheville has reached an agreement with street performers regarding new regulations on where the buskers can operate, reports WLOS.
-The 90-Second Newbery Film Festival is coming to Asheville in April 2017. The event gives children the chance to make their own 90-second films.

-Did you catch the premiere of the new video to go with the song Don’t Freak Out by Asheville musician Lovett? The Huffington Post posted the video, along with a great interview with Ben Lovett. The tune is on the new Asheville Symphony Sessions, which features a great line-up of local bands/musicians performing with the Asheville Symphony.
-Asheville’s LaZoom comedy bus tour is a top ten trending attraction on TripAdvisor, according to WLOS.
