Loyal reader M sent us this photo – check it out. Country star Billy Currington was in town to play a few tunes at Wild Wings, of all places. Currington is a pretty hot star. What is he doing playing a Wild Wings? How does Wild Wings book these gigs? They’re getting good music in that place. We’re not knocking it – we just never thought of Wild Wings as a listening room.

Anyhoo, here’s Billy. He’s got that smokin’ hit, “Must Be Doin’ Something Right.”

Billy Currington has one of the best talents to come along for some time in my view. That smokey molasses voice certainly does it for me. Thanks for sharing. Nova.

What I meant was that was an event that could not be topped. My chin is always up. My expanding belly makes it so.

I have an autographed picture of Billy and an autographed CD single of "Walk a Little Straighter Daddy"
I asked him to sign the picture, "To Lucy, Stay in school."
"Is he having trouble?" he asked.
"No, she’s three," I said. "I’m just not taking chances."
Two days later I heard that single while in a truck stop in West Virginia – things have kind of gone downhill since then.
