There were a couple of interesting tidbits today in beer news for the state and here in Ashvegas.

First, as you’ve probably already heard, the state Senate passed a bill raising the limit on the alcohol content of beer.

That’s a big deal to a beer-loving town like Ashvegas, which has a number of excellent local brewers. Expect to see the new drinks on shelves in the next few weeks.

Speaking of local brewers, check out the Beer Guy’s column about Pisgah Brewing in Black Mountain and Heinzelmaanchen brewery in Sylva.

Finally, check out the Atlanta paper Thursday, which is planning to quote the Beer Guy in a story about Ashvegas, the beer town. I’ll add the link soon as I can.
