Jon Fleer, the award-winning chef who ran the kitchen at the well-known Blackberry Farm resort in eastern Tennessee for 15 years, is working on finding a spot in Asheville for a restaurant. From my hot sheet report for Asheville Scene:
Fleer tells Scene that while his current work has kept him uber-busy, he’s begun moving again on his Asheville plans.
“I’m still definitely looking hard,” Fleer said. “I would love to get it wrapped up and get moving toward an opening.” But right now there’s nothing definite to report, he said, despite any rumors floating around.
Keep an eye on this. Fleer’s arrival will help further Asheville’s budding reputation as a real foodie town.
