Avett Brothers adding a fourth?

This is total rumor off the Avett Brothers’ community forums on the interweb, but it’s so juicy that we’re going to have to pass it along: could the Avett Brothers be adding a fourth member? Right now, the band is brothers Scott and Seth Avett, with Bob Crawford.

Here’s what the message boarder says (he’s referring to the Avetts’ show a few days ago in Lexington, Kentucky:

Apparently Joe Kwon is an official member of the brotherhood now. He’ll be bringing his energy and magic to the shows regularly, I guess. Joe told me he’s been asked to officially join and with the most honestly humble tone said “it’s my dream come true.” I almost shed a tear of joy for him, I was so touched. He is such a nice guy (just like everybody else involved with this band as Dave is quick to point out).
He and Seth were REALLY clicking last night, and in fact the whole band was riding some magical wave. I’m still trying to absorb it all. It was truly a rare event and an INCREDIBLE SHOW from the opening band (The Corduroy Road….very good) to the last note.

Kwon joined the Avetts on stage in April when they played the Asheville Music Jamboree. And we saw Kwon play with the Avett boys one other time, though the exact concert escapes us at the moment. An interesting addition to the band, if true. Can’t wait to hear more from these guys.
